From Awareness to Action. From Individual Choices to a People’s Movement.
For me, environmental protection is not simply a cause, it is a personal commitment and a way of life.
With more than 24 years of professional experience in banking and finance, I have learned the importance of discipline, accountability, measurement and long term thinking. Alongside my professional career, I have spent more than a decade working for environmental protection through tree plantation, long term tree care, environmental awareness and community based initiatives.
My grassroots environmental journey began with Green Parikud on 3 July 2015 and gradually evolved into a much broader mission.
My commitment has never been limited to giving time or leading initiatives. Over the years, I have personally dedicated 20% of my monthly salary and 50% of my annual bonus primarily towards tree plantation, tree care and environmental awareness.
I strongly believe:

From Plantation to Climate Consciousness
Decades of grassroots environmental work taught me an important lesson: planting trees alone cannot solve our environmental challenges. We must also change the way we think, consume and live.
Climate change affects all of us, yet much of the conversation understandably centres on governments, industries, policies and technologies. These are essential, but every citizen should also ask:
“What can I do?”
Our everyday choices; how we use energy and water, how we travel, what we eat and buy, how we consume resources and manage waste, and how we undertake activities such as agriculture, contribute in different ways to our Carbon Footprint and environmental impact.
Climate consciousness therefore needs to move beyond conferences and reports and reach every home, farm, campus, workplace and community.
This belief inspired our flagship movement:
Climate Conscious Bharat
Making Climate Consciousness a People’s Movement in Bharat.
The movement encourages a simple journey:
We want people to understand their relationship with the environment, calculate their Carbon Footprint, take an achievable Climate Pledge, reduce what they reasonably can, act consistently and inspire others.
Measure Before We Reduce
My banking background has reinforced my belief in the value of measurement and informed decision making. The same principle guides our approach to climate action:
“What gets measured can be understood, and what gets understood can be improved.”
Through the NetZero Planet Carbon Footprint Calculators, we aim to make Carbon Footprint measurement accessible and relevant across different sections of society.

These calculators are not intended to create competition between people or institutions. They are designed to provide a starting point for self awareness, informed choices, practical action and progress over time.

Environmental Author
My journey as an environmental author comes from the same belief that knowledge must reach common people.
I have written and published books covering important environmental subjects including climate change, trees, Carbon Footprint, air, water, soil, waste, biodiversity, ESG and sustainability.
The purpose of my writing is to translate complex environmental challenges into simple, practical and accessible knowledge that ordinary people, students, families and communities can understand and act upon.
My environmental writing and grassroots work therefore follow the same pathway:
Knowledge becomes meaningful when it influences the way we think, the choices we make and the actions we take.
Action Must Create Impact
Our environmental mission goes beyond awareness.
Through NetZero Planet Foundation, we seek to connect climate awareness with practical environmental action through tree plantation and long term care, ecological restoration, urban greening, biodiversity conservation, Carbon Footprint awareness, responsible consumption, energy and water conservation, waste reduction, Climate Smart Agriculture, environmental education and community led action.
One principle remains especially important to me:
“Planting is the beginning. Survival is the responsibility.”
The same philosophy applies to all our environmental work.
Awareness should not end with a speech, seminar, social media post, campaign or certificate. Awareness must lead to responsible action, and action should ultimately contribute to meaningful and lasting impact.
From Odisha to Bharat
Our journey begins in Odisha, but our aspiration extends across Bharat.
We envision a growing voluntary network of Climate Ambassadors, Climate Conscious Schools & Colleges, Communities, Workplaces, Farmers, Businesses and partner organisations that can take climate consciousness deeper into society.
NetZero Planet Foundation cannot build this movement alone.
Our role is to provide the platform, knowledge, tools, Carbon Footprint measurement systems, partnerships and opportunities that enable people and institutions to participate.
My long term vision is not for the Foundation to become the owner of Climate Conscious Bharat.
People should become its owners.
A true people’s movement succeeds when individuals and communities begin carrying its purpose forward themselves.
My Vision for NetZero Planet Foundation
I envision NetZero Planet Foundation as a credible, transparent and impact driven environmental institution guided by one clear pathway:
Success should not be measured only by the number of campaigns conducted, people reached or trees planted.
It should also be reflected in how many people became climate conscious, understood their impact, took meaningful action, changed everyday behaviour, inspired others and contributed to lasting environmental outcomes.
The transition towards a sustainable future will require science, technology, policy, finance and innovation. But it will also require something equally fundamental; a change in human consciousness, responsibility and everyday behaviour.
I invite everyone to begin with something simple:
